* I’m currently living in Tokyo and I like the tidiness and discipline but nothing can ever replace my love for the Philippines which remains a very beautiful place despite the reprobates who govern her .

Half of the blood running in my veins is Portuguese but I’ve always believed I was Greek in my past life and Litochoro (a quaint little town at the foot of Mt. Olympus) was my hometown. I’m not a big eater but i can drink like a fish especially ouzo and sake and I enjoy a great twisted and scatological self defecating er… deprecating sense of humor. I like the word “tolerance” and I don’t possess the tendency to prejudge people easily hence I negate the notion that first impression is foremost and should always count.

I own only 8 9 pairs of shoes (2 tennis, 1 flamenco, 2 pumps, 2 loafers, and 1 high heels, and 1 more flamenco [well, I don’t count my 3 pairs of boots because they’re for winter]) and half of them almost 12 years old but they still look fairly new. I’m a rucksack girl and I carry it wherever I go except for very formal occasions. I am probably the only person my age in Tokyo who doesn’t own/use a cell phone. I don’t owe anyone money and I have one credit card that I only use for identification purposes.

I’m drawn to the idea of supporting advocates of the “Robinhood Principle” (steal from the evil rich and give to the poor). Almost every time after dining in an expensive restaurant with my hubby, I would be full of guilt and would have this crazy habit of calculating and picturing in my mind how many malnourished children (in the Philippines) can have two fairly decent meals a day for a month if used for them the money we paid our food with. (I said crazy!)
I talk to the stars and moon and clouds and to anything that is living and breathing. I talk to the trees especially, I tell them my hopes and woes and wishes and things that worry me and no I’m not crazy, well, maybe a little. :)

I’m fascinated with children and I strongly believe that if you teach them right they’ll never fail you. I like looking at identical twins and I dream/hope of having my own someday, or, soon.

I have just recently put a stop to my research and data gathering on autism and psycholinguistics and now work as a part-time teacher at a Junior/ Senior High School here in Tokyo; on the side I do English-Japanese/Japanese-English translations and also work as an assistant photographer for my hubby. My photoblog is here.

I believe in the adage “Do no harm and no harm will ever be done to you”
[read: retribution, revenge, vengeance, resbak]

oh, and… don’t believe everything that i said….(<—-including this one )…. tee hehehe… KIDDING!!!!

here’s a poem for you:

WINGS

We have
a map of the universe
for microbes,
we have
a map of a microbe
for the universe.
We have a Grand Master of chess
made of electr0nic circuits.
But above all
we have the ability to sort peas, to cup water in our
hands, to seek the right screw under the sofa
for hours.
This gives us wings.
