10 repressed pop-ups + 1

1) “he’s got really sexy lips, i can’t concentrate…. susmaryanong garapon ano ba gagawin ko dito sa batang ito?” *fret not, he is a college boy and already 21; and i bet he has impure thoughts toward me too*

2) “pang apat na take nya na ng toefl sana naman maipasa na nya this time at ng matapos na kami. sawang sawa na ‘ko sa kanya at sa kabibigay ng trial tests.”

3) “why can’t he walk like a man and not like a duck?”

4) “are you narcissus‘  twin sister?”

5) ” muka syang akong bangaw na nakapeluka sa oversized sunglasses na suot nya ko.”

6) “CHEAPSKATE!!! I dislike cheapskates! I dislike me.”

7) “lahat nagkakamali rin naman pero napaka simpleng grammar rules lang naman yon at kahit 7th grader eh alam; sana maayos nya na sa lalong madaling panahon ang sakit sa mata kasi tuwituwina. for ex., i was + able to; i wasn’t + able to; you were + able to; you weren’t + able to.”

8) “please, tama na kareregalo ma saken ng green tea. i hate green tea, mint tea naman o kaya rosehip tea o kahit na anong tea basta wag lang green tea.”

9) “no he doesn’t look like that famous hongkong actor; ni katiting ay HINDE! and he’s married with 2 kids, niloloko ka lang nya at magaling syang magsalita at magpaikotikot. wag kang maniwala!”

10) “nothing is absolute especially if it’s coming from you so stop saying ‘absolutely’  every five effing seconds! ….absolutely this absolutely that absolutely myass. *fackow!”

you always look hungry and sad and cold in that dark corner of yours next to the fujiphoto machine. i’m going to give you one of L’s warm coats and a woolen scarf and i’m going to buy an obento and a can of hot tea at 7-11 and give them to you. please don’t refuse this time, please.”

Things finally became very clear after this afternoon. It’s not anything fatal or permanently debilitating; the pain will go away and that is for sure it’s just a question of “when” and I pray that it is soon.

Just a hundred steps or even less to and from our buliding’s parking lot and front door would render him almost paralysed. He cringes and struggles and instantly needs to lie flat down to ease the  pain that shoots from the side of his left knee (sometimes it moves to the right) all the way through his hip to the mid torso.

Seeing him that way is unbearable and makes my heart bleed; sometimes I hide in the bathroom so he wouldn’t see me sob. A far cry from the man I used to know back in the days. Strong and blessed with a sexy beautiful and solid pair of legs pedigreed from his Olympian skier dad.

He marched in the jungles of Nicaragua with the Contras and the Sandinistas, for crying out loud!

He was a do-or-die passionate photojournalist then and very courageous, documenting a civil war while living with kamikaze soldiers amidst the harshest of conditions deep in the jungles and mountains of Latin America. He was physically fit (still is), not the yucky muscular type but rather lean and athletic. An enormous backpack that contained 40 kilos of photo equipment that seemed to be intrinsically mounted on his back and shoulders was nothing to him then, and that’s even when they had to hike non-stop for days with only boiled unripe bananas and rain water for sustenance.

Life itself has a way of balancing things out.

It’s just a slipped disk which normally heals within a few weeks but in his case is taking longer, for some reason. 110 days in total today. His body is healing itself and repairing its own damage within. He is going to be ok and there is absolutely nothing to worry about, the doctor said to me. We just need to wait and be patient that’s all.

In a couple of weeks he’ll be back to his sexy, strong, highly creative, adventurous and crazy person that he is. I just know it.

now, if only i could get even just half of my wishes…

i ask too much! i ask too much! isa isa lang dapat
