Summer in Tokyo is hotter than summer in Manila, believe it or not. Because the cities are highly populated there are more people compacted on finite spaces. There are more factories and vehicles therefore more spews and emissions and smog, high-rise buildings and concrete dwellings make room for less verdures. The trains and subways also aid in generating more heat plus the fact that it rains almost only sporadically here.
It makes me want to untie the emerald green sarong I have on so I can just putter around the house naked. But what I really want to do is to go back to that little house in the woods and immerse myself once again in the sound of the trees, birds, kuligligs (cicadas) and the utter silence of its darkest nights. The stars shine brighter there too.
This morning was the official end of my HS classes and starting tomorrow I’m a free woman every Monday and Thursday until the first week of September. This summer I promise myself that I’m going to achieve the following: paint the dining table and chairs aegean blue, paper the bedroom walls, memorize some basic greek, streamline my book shelves, do some serious sewing and make the car seat covers that I’ve been telling Luiji I would make, finish reading Eco’s Foucault’s Pendulum, and practice Joni Mitchell’s Both Sides Now til I get it right so I can sing it in a karaoke without humiliation.
I’m eating ice-cold pakwan and the sultry voices of Dinah Washington and Lena Horne wafting alternately through our 1961 Panasonic turn table are highlighting the equally sultry afternoon - the day almost perfect despite the humidity. And now I VANT to dance.
I got a present from my darling; it’s an antique music box and in it a prince and two princesses dancing. A love triangle…hmmmnn…very familiar.

I’ve been meme-tagged by the great chef of the gods of mt. Olympus and
who am I to refuse?
So, here:
What are the things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play?
I daydream a lot and play with my imaginary friends (still weird after all these years tehehe…)
What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it in your journal,
I don’t get stress very often because my work is quite unstressful (all I have to do is jabberwock incessantly and torment those who disagree with me (KIDDING!). But when it does happen I take long baths with all kinds of fragrant and essential oils, and, daydream in the tub. When I say daydream that includes assessing what brought me the stress in the first place, what were the causes of my anxieties and whether they are valid and could be easily surmounted and, prevented from happening again. I also dance Flamenco twice a week, play tennis, talk and go out with friends, long car-rides with my darling hubby, and play with my friends’ kids.
tag 5 friends and ask them to post it in theirs.
Cacofonix and 4 of my imaginary friends ..hehehe…
