Let me pretend and allow myself to say, “holy molly guacamole! it’s been a crazy week!” With papers to grade, proposals to write, a curriculum to complete, 5 patent claims to proofread, and left and right end-of-the-year parties to go to, I’m all pooped out and have shed off 5 kilos of my body’s badly needed meat/fat/muscle.

But this entry is not intended to be about me; it’s actually a sorta dedication and apology to my younger sister whom I haven’t seen for two years and haven’t spoken a word with for over a year now. For what reason, I’m not exactly sure. Hmm, wait a sec maybe I know. Cold war. I love her to death and would even be willing to give a spare internal organ if she was in dire need of one though am not sure if it’s the same on her part, perhaps not. We’re located in two different continents but, needless to say, the advent of that thing called “telephone” would have helped bridge the gap or, if one doesn’t want to hear tension that would resonate from one’s voice while talking, email will be good to at least say, ‘kamusta ka na?’pero wala talaga. I never got an answer to the last email that I had sent her so it’s not I ang may kinikimkim. It’s good to know she’s healthy and doing fine with her living according to momsy so we’re clear on that and there’s no need to worry but I still wish she’d drop me a line.

To you B, I’ve been thinking about you lately. I know that you perceive of me as an arrogant,sanctimonious, pompous, self-righteous nagging dictator of a sister; and you may be right, and I’m sorry that I had made myself appear to be that way to you, it was not premeditated to intentionally hurt you. For all the things that I had said and done that caused you pain in your heart I’m truly, truly SORRY. I’ve recently fixed your preschool graduation picture which had been badly damaged by almost 25 years of having it kept in my wallet, using Adobe Photoshop and it came out really nice and it’s bringing me back a lot of poignant memories looking at your 5 year old face with your toothy grin.

I’ve learned a few new things along the way and one of them is the commonplace and bromidic ‘love always wins’, commonplace and bromidic is it but it is true and I have been doing my best to give it…unconditionally.

You’re all invited to a sushi party! Walang time mag blog eh, let’s party na lang. Err.. bring your own drinks pls. but i have some nasty tequila and a huge bottle of first class Japanese osake. Let’s all get drunk! Poetry reading sana afterwards pero baka lasing na tayo lahat :)

Chef Drstel is going to bring us pulutan, her 3 Michelin-star winner: the bloody delicious dinuguan (pun intended); Annabanana promised some kimchi direct from the kimchiland; Cacofonix, her highly recommended soya milk; more sushi from Sachiko san; mr.Infraternammeam will delight us with bits and pieces of trivia and amusing anecdotes that he collects, Ate Kiwibeth’s musings and laments in the land of sheep under down under, and, the last but not the least, wicked awesome entertainment from Jing providing the east german counter part of the chippendale dancers [scroll down until you find her picture with euphoric smile being surrounded by interesting looking alemen (plural ng aleman..hehe)] Cheers and good health to all!
